Question Missing the point on UN inspectors...

I think some people, especially from France, are completely missing the point on “inspections, or observers” When the UN (some men, a lot of chickensh*t’s) passed resolution 1441 it was basically stating that Iraq was to DISARM.

Saddam agreed to this and allowed the UN inspectors into his country to “observe” him disarm and account for ALL weapons of mass destruction. It furthermore called for Saddam to DECLARE all his weapons.

This basically meant that once the “inspectors” got to Iraq that Saddam would have EVERYTHING called for all out in the OPEN and in parking lots. Taken out of storage, house’s, closets, hotels, hospitals, warehouses etc.

The resolution did NOT state that they were sending “Investigators” for a good game of hide-and-seek. That is absolutely what is going on and why it is so hard for me to understand how some people could be so stupid, to put it bluntly, and not understand what is going on.

Every person who agrees the “investigation” (aka inspections) should continue or be allowed to continue is absolutely illogical in their thought process. It was NEVER suppose to be “investigations” or a “weapons hunt” to see IF they could find anything and/or everything.

After the inspectors had been there for two weeks with what was happen the UN should have called them out of Iraq and then start bombing Iraq.

Remember this was a 9-0 United Nation’s vote. So how can people say they support continued “inspections”? It has NOTHING to do with resolution 1441 period and that is a FACT!

If you would like try to prove me wrong, state to me from resolution 1441 where is states for the inspectors to go to Iraq and “see” if they can find anything or not. Let me save you a lot of time, you will NOT be able to prove me wrong.

So to tell me you support “inspections” is to tell me you support Saddam to stay in power and face NO consequences for telling the UN to go screw themselves. To support “inspections” is to tell me you think it is just fine for a terriost dictator to stay in power and continue to develop weapons of mass destruction. To tell me you support “inspections” is to tell me it is ok for Saddam to give his weapons of mass destruction to terriost that WILL use them against America.

So to those of you that may support “inspections” please tell me why you support terriost to make weapons of mass destruction and why it is ok for them to use them against America.

I will be interested in your “illogical” response to your support of terriost.

I think the US Government knows more than the UN wants to believe. Take this story about the Drones . I guess I was not dreaming when Colin Powell a couple of weeks ago at the UN said that Iraq had these things and told how they could be used to deliver "weapons of mass destruction". Now that the inspectors have found them ... Blitz is dragging his feet to determine if they are on the "Banned" list. BULL***** ...

I have been hesitant to support the "war" ... but the more I read (especially about the UN) the more it is making cense.

All I can say is when all these protesters start hammering away at the President, FBI, and CIA for allowing another terrorist attact in the US, I guess they will have a good excuse. SAD BUT TRUE...

I fully supported the inspectors when we first sent them over there, but now they are not worth having there, they need to be evacuated before they get hit with the new MOAB. Saddam Hussein did not meet the requirements, time and time again he has done this crap, he needs to be removed from power, I feel that he is a threat to the free world.

The World Trade Center was not in France, I would not expect them to understand our position and see Iraq as a threat. Now, everyone that believes that Saddam Hussein would not supply terrorists with weapons AND political asylum, go ahead and fly out the window. Sure, 9/11 was their payback to the United States for us stationing troops on their holy land in the Gulf War, and if we go to war again, they will retaliate years later. This is inevitable, but which would you rather have? Guerrilla warfare tactics carried out through terrorism in the U.S., or terrorism funded by Iraq carried out in the U.S.. If they are going to come attack us with terrorism, then we take out everyone that is associated with them. we DEFINITELY need to rid them of the mass-destruction weapons that they could acquire from Iraq. Iraq was never supposed to produce these weapons anyway, so it really shouldn't be a question of destroying them. I do think that the United States could avoid war, but only if Hussein is removed from power.

I don't think there are many people, if any, on this board that agree with France's position. I just think there are people on this board that prefer to exhaust all efforts to avoid war before using force to control the situation. When and If we get ready to "march" across Iraq, it will be there waiting as will several other countries we may have to "march" across.
The air war with Iraq has already begun, we are dropping guided bombs daily on military positions south of Bagdad. It will be relatively easy to escalate from that to good old general all purpose bombing.
I think we all agree on what the final result should be, we just have a little disagreement on the means to achieve it.

Good post. All efforts to avoid war have been exhausted. They were exhausted 2 weeks after the inspectors arrived in Iraq and Saddam did NOT have all his weapons rounded up.

There is no more effort to be exhausted.

The current hide-and-seek game being played must be ended NOW, resolution 1441 did not call for hide-and-seek. It is time for Saddam and all his supporters to DIE and burn in hell where they belong.

Saddam was absolutely involved with 9/11 and now must pay the price. While Saddam is paying the price other countries that LOVE and support terriost are NOW put on notice. Pack up the game, or this show will make a visit to your neighborhood.

For those citizens that live in these countries that LOVE and support terriost it is time to RISE and tell you goverenment to STOP or haul @ss to the hills so you don't accidental get killed in the action.

It's not a game my friends, this is real life, this is REALITY TV it is "the strongest will survive".

After France's absoute embarrsing and discusting treatment of America they should be cut from all ties with America. NO foreign aid, NO allie support, NO NOTHING.

If they go hungry, TO BAD. Let's see them prove to the world how "independant" they really are without America. France ONLY survives because of America. With America France can grow, without America France will die off like some 3rd world country.

The majority of people in France can have fun now running there mouths because they wish they could be America, but will never be. Once a dictator takes over life in France will be a real bitch. Then I will be laughing my @ss off at all the French whinning "please help us"...

Send them some cheese and charge them double the price...

They haven't met French soldiers yet have they?
