Funny thing about that... I've been "cleaning the garage" for about 3 weekends strait now. My wife says it sure is taking a long time. I just don't have the heart to tell her it's the only "man space" I have left. Yesterday I just rearraged all my tools on the peg boards. Hmmm.... the space is getting smaller. Hey! How'd that sidewalk chalk get in there....

I dunno....

That is the reason I do my OWN oil changes. It is dangerous, at least for me to go into a show room or the Ford dealer. Sometimes I hear little voices in my head "buy me","buy me", "Hey I am the one for you", and no it is not the good looking blond, its the damn truck, I am telling you Ford has some kind of chit going on with that music, the smell, and all the shine.

Its a damn set-up I tell you. It should be illegal, Ford should have to have the garage located down a 10 mile deserted road with nothing around except 10 miles of dirt in every direction, nothing to look at except dirt...

I am telling you thats how they get us...

That is the truth. Everytime I get the oil changed at the dealer, I always end up walking in the lot looking at all of the trucks that I wish I would have gotten. For some reason, I always look at the superduties they have and wish I had enough money for one. Then I feel sad when I leave because I have to leave all of these nic trucks they have.

01 XLT Sport, thats how I ended up with my '98. I had a '00 Ranger and would see this poor red truck sitting there every time I went in for an oil change. I felt bad for this poor red truck and decided I should trade in my gutless Ranger for this homley V8 powered F150.

I've tinkered too much with the '98 to make it an appealing trade to them. I often think of trading up but then I have a history with this truck. I think it's a keeper. It'll be paid off soon then I might think of getting a car, in addition to the truck.

I love this truck I have now and I really, really want to keep it. When I bought it I told myself "this is a keeper" going to pay it off and "then" maybe get something else.

I tell you my friend I am trying sooooooooo hard, God knows I am trying soooooooo hard to keep this promise to myself with my current truck, to keep it until paid and then after. BUT that damn Ford dealer just will NOT help me, they have over 100, yes over 100 F150's on top of tons of F250's F350's stangs ect.

It got so bad with them that my last two purchases they didn't even do a credit check, they "pulled" my file. I am like WTF, you have a file on me like the FBI? and this file is not skinny, with only a few sheets in it, hell I thought they may have some good stuff on me to use on me in case, you know what I mean, maybe a picture of me doing something, or maybe a phone tap, something like that.

They still have the same saleman that sold me a 97 F150 then when I traded it in for a 99 Mustang, and then the Mustang for my current 01 F150. When I come in he knows my first name, and ALWAYS ask, "hey you want to take a looky at what we have now?", "you want to test drive something for kicks while your truck is being serviced?"

I am like "HELL NO, I just want to look at a blank white WALL until someone tells me my truck is done. It never fails they have to come out to the lot and find me to tell me "Hey your truck is done, what us to apprise it?"

HELL NO, give me my damn keys...

I tell you, my file is growing over there, its bad...

I am having a hard time sleeping this week because I got an appointment there Friday for a coolant flush, change the fuel filter, rotate tires, brake service, lube, etc. So we are talking some serious time (me and all the lonely trucks) wanting to be looked at, smelled, sat in... Man I have a headache, what am I going to do?

I need to find a program, like a 13 step thing. I have no problem with personal responsibility, accountability knowing right from wrong, good from bad etc. I don't drink or do drugs, but my weakness is all these DAMN FORD TRUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

Why oh why could that not be UGLY like Chevy and Dodge where when you got a truck it was because YOU HAD TO, rather then wanted to?????

Man O man, ain't that the truth. If I had been happy with my 99 Lightning, it would have been paid for sitting in the garage not costing a dime. But I wanted an 01, and its sitting in the garage costing me every month during this winter. Maybe I should go look at it

Good God gentlemen, I feel your pain. I was diverted to the dealer this past weekend from my errands only to find an extension of the Presidents day sales due to the snow on the holiday. Unholy demons thou tempts me!!

Saw the most perfect 150 XLT, FX4 so of course I talked to a salemen, he promised the world and I swallowed the hook. When I saw my trade in value on my 01 ($12,000 !!!!) I nearly puked on his shoes. The next number was worse. If I traded with no money down my payments would be $600 permonthe for 6 years!! I walked back to my little V-6 and drove off, luckily it was raining heavily hiding my tears (Sob).

The bastards really play with your emotions don't they!!

Absolutely, yes they do, them basturds...

What is up with them smells? You get in and it's like smelling a good looking women (you know the NEW smell), well same effect cause's a woody every damn time I tell you.

That's how they get us. See women are much, much stronger to temptation, well except when they see itty bitty tiny shiny things that cost about as much as our trucks.

But that is how they get us, everyone knows a guy with a woody is defenseless against reason and logic. Kind of like being dazed, we sometimes hear the numbers they throw out, but act like its just a ex-wife whinning about something we could care less about so we "ignore" it and move on.

Then as you sit there with Mr. Woody the guys shoves some papers in front and tells you "All you have to do is sign your name and she is ALL YOUR'S"

What do you think we are going to do sitting there with a damn woody and ALL we have to do is sign some stupid paper with a cheap pen??????

I really feel bad for guys that show up at Ford if they are using Viagra...

That must be them Lighting owners...

Thumbs up

You are absolutely right.
That is the whole reason tilt-wheel was invented.
So we could drive them off the lot right after the purchase and not have to wait around a half hour or so.

Boy, how this thread has changed. It went from Raoul coming out of the closet about his oil filter wrenches to buying new trucks.

Raoul and 01 XLT Sport, all I can say is thank you.

I don't remember the last time that I have laughed so hard.

Well my friends I MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I did and DAMN proud of it. I had my appointment for coolant flush, power steering flush with BG conditioner, fuel filter, air filter, tire rotation, and lube. Took them approx. 2 hours.

I really thought about bringing duct tape with me. So as to duct tape my nose to avoid the “smells” duct tape my eyes so I couldn’t see any new toys, duct tape my ears so I couldn’t hear anybody speak to me including the voices from all the new trucks.

Most important I thought about duct taping Mr. Limpy so he would not turn into Mr. Woody because as all us guys know that is when the PROBLEMS begin…

I decided against the duct tape and decided I needed to take a stand to face my fears face to face.

I walk in and someone ask if I need any help. I say "no, I’ll be ok however I am here for my appointment” he takes my name etc. I then tell him, before he has a chance to ask, “No, I don’t want to test drive ANYTHING”.

He looks at me with this (WTF are you talking about) and says “oooookkkkk” I am thinking to myself (Yep, gotcha pal, caught you off guard). I then walk into the waiting room which is right next to the show room.

They have a fan or the ventilation system designed to suck up the “new” smell in the show room and pump it into the waiting room. I sit there and tell Mr. Limpy “DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT”

After seeing I am indeed in control of my domain I proceed to strut into the show room. There I see an 03 Harley F150 (Man she looks sweeeeett) I can smell that leather from 50 yards away until I realize my head is half way into the open window. I tell that sweet looking thing, “you might be pretty, but my bitch is sweeter” and walk off.

I then decide time to go outside where there are over 100 F150’s F250’s and some F350’s. Sure they look good, but my old lady is inside getting a breast job done, so she’ll look even sweeter then these ladies sitting outside waiting for their sugar daddy’s.

I then strut myself back in proud as can be. Yes all these ladies outside and in the show room wanted me, and wanted me bad, but I am a taken man and I was loyal and brave. My baby is ready and her sugar daddy drove her home and she felt so good, almost like a virgin…

I made it out alive with my integrity in tact.

It’s all will power my friends

Can I get an amen gentlemen???
