Insurance on a 2k1 Cobra

$4500 a year for me!! I hate being under 21 and not getting any breaks on insurance. Thankfully, I have a good rate on my truck that is very affordable. It's $4200 for a GT mustang! Some of these prices can get outrageous! Anyone else got any high-performance vehicles that cost them an arm and a leg in insurance?

edit: put gas instead of insurance

You are seriously getting the screws put to you. I pay about $1200 a year for my '96 Cobra. Granted, it's not as new as yours, but still... Shop around, you can find a better deal than that.

Insurance is crazy.......

HaHa........you are complaining about that. I just did a quick check online for a 96 Bronco I bought. They want $4200 for 6 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am 19. Gieco wants $12,000 a year for my Lightning. Thank God for dealer plates. -Mat-

P.S. The thing is.........you pay all this money for what>??? You have an accident or something and they will either hike up your rate even more or just drop you.

I knew there was a reason I liked old cars better - 1969 Chevelle SS396, $166 a year, covered for $22,000. Gets more looks than any GT or Cobra...

No tickets, and 3 accidents; none were my fault; only one cost them money. Being Under 21 sucks!!

most places don't cut you a break until your 25 - but my insurance went down when I turned 23.

Cool

I know the reason all of your rates are so high.

The major Insurance carriers are members here and read all of your exploits.

I drive a 98 F150 Nascar, but since im still 17, my dad is rated under my truck, and im rated under my moms old 93 chysler concorde. I still have 760 every 6 months.... Im with shelter insurance, and my rates will go down when im 21.

Yes being under 21 does suck. When im 18, im gonna supercharge my truck, but my insurance company will not find that out. I told them it was a 1998 F150 XL, thats all they know, lol.
