Online Sales Tax

Has anybody seen or read about this in there local newspaper. I didn't even know this was around the corner. I do a lot of my mod shopping online like the rest of you probably all do and this is going to start sucking real quick if the item you are buying now has sales tax. Check out the link below

Thats the best thing about buying online when you live in another state. That would cut down on my mod spending........

Not paying sales tax is part of the fun and it helps offset shipping costs.

If the interent starts charging sales tax then the incentive to order online and wait for the part will be some what gone, when you can go get it locally right now in some cases.

I wonder if they even actually always pay the tax to the states or just pocket the money. Who's to know the difference?

Doesn't affect me.
Montana doesn't have sales tax
Neither does Oregon.
This still sucks overall though.

Sales Tax on the net would really hurt. People would have to pay sales tax AND shipping!

Why are they so friggin worried about sales tax on the net? I think I read the internet only did like 17 billion in sales last year down from 20 billion like two years ago.

The article I read said that it's mainly the brick and mortar storefronts that are doing it like JC Penny, Walmart etc.

By paying the sales tax you can return it to the local store.

Kinda defeats the purpose for buying on the net though, heh.

If I remember correctly, when I read it, only a few companies had agreed to begin collecting sales taxes. I'll buy from the others first now.
