i crawled under the truck but i could not find the thing.

i know they change the location of the oil filter from year to year (from what i read here in the posts) and i wanted to know if anyone of you guys knows where it is on the 2003's

The oil filter on my 03 can best be seen from the wheel well on the drivers side. I have always changed my own oil, after seeing where the filter is on the 03, I go to the stealership and let them change it for 20 bucks. On my 97 it was a remote filter under the front bumper, but I understand Ford decided it was a good way to cut expenses and move the filter back to the block. You can get a kit to move the filter back where it was in 97, but I don't know how much it costs or how much it entails to install it. There's a thread out there somewhere detailing all that.
My dealership is where I bought the truck, and they have given me two free oil changes so far. But even if I had to pay, I think it's only 19.95 or something around there.
Good luck with the truck.
