I was just sitting here reminiscing over the trucks I have owned over the last 20 years.I have come up with this list so far,may not be totally accurate due to faulty memory sometimes and probably left one or two out I forgot about,but here goes.


1963 f100 short stepside 292v8 3spd.- black
1971 f100 long bed 302 v8- ugliest green ever
1975 f100 360v8 orange and white-major gas hog
1976(if i remember right)f250 4x4 460 v8 also major gas hog
1980 f150 302v8 faded red
1985 f150 sc 302v8 floorboards rusted clean through repl.w/plywood
1991 f150xl shortbed 300 i-6/ 5 spd. great truck
1996 f150 eddie bauer shortbed 300 i-6/ 5 spd,best truck I ever owned

And last but not least,the current ride y2k f150 xlt 4x4 ex cab,owned 1 month today,jury still out.

Kinda fun to think back on all those old trucks and good times.

 

wow, you're definitely a ford guy! im on my first truck, but judging by the look of those 2004 f-150's, this one wont be my last!

And I see you had the I-6, I had one in a 1973 F-100, great truck

 

Ford trucks owned...

1990 Ranger STX SC/SB 4x4 4.0 V6 80k miles when I sold it
1993 Ranger XLT SC/SB 4x4 4.0 V6 90k miles when I sold it
1997 F150 XLT SC/SB 4x4 4.6 V8 82k miles when I sold it
2000 F150 Lariet SC/SB 4x4 5.4 V8 84k miles when I sold it
2002 F150 SuperCrew 4x4 5.4 V8.....almost 1k miles 8^)

None of these trucks were ever back to the dealer for service. I relaced only fluids and filters. One set of brakes on the 93 Ranger and one set of tires and shocks on every one. Either I've been extremely lucky or Ford builds good trucks. Maybe both...8^) They do get driven though, and everyone towed at least 20% of their miles.

Ford cars owned ...

87 Mustang...first new car ever....99k miles in 3 years, sold to buy the above ranger.

Also owned a 84 Mustang and a 76 Nova, as well as a 94 Geo Prism, 97 Grand Am, 99 Taurus, and a 2001 Windstar.

With all of the incentives on new trucks, this '02 has depreciated more in 6 months and 16,000 miles than the last 3 trucks did in 12 months and 30,000+ miles. I doubt if I will be buying a new truck this year. I guess that I will have to wait for a 2004.
