If the enviro-nuts would allow us to further develop our own natural resources (ANWAR, for example) we would not have to buy so much from OPEC.

Rather than attacking SUV's, Huffington and her new buddies would have a lot more credibility if they pushed for domestic drilling. Of course that would annoy their Hollywood limousine liberal friends.

What pi$$es me off is they say the gas a SUV driver buys suports terrorest but if the next guy that pulls up to that pump is in a geo metor ain't they doing the same thing come on get real they use the same gas SUV's and us truck owner use why not go after them for buying unAmerican cars that use gas.

I'll sum everything about this Ms Huffington. She is what I like to call a "Rich B****". (that is a word that rhymes with rich). You get the idea. She is only doing all of this to get more money and exposure, because she will probably try to run for Congress the next time around. That would make sense, right? Get all of these rich people to take her side, and when she is running she can then get major contributions for her campaign from them. If that does happen, I hope she gets buried by her competition. I would rather see anybody there but her.

 

The big problem I have with the commericals is this: It is FALSE. If they want to say someone using gas (which comes from oil) is supporting terriosm then just about EVERY American is responsible for supporting terrisom.

If you heat your house, if you eat food bought from the store, if you buy any products from a store etc. It all requires OIL for you to have.

So if someone happens to say to you "Don't you feel bad that you support terrisom, because of how much fuel you use" just tell them will so do you, but just not as much money as me since I have a HIGHER paying JOB. Then tell the little **** ant to move on.

The enviromental wackos really SCREWED themselfs on this one. Now they have made it VERY possible to drill for our OWN oil right here with there STUPID commerical.

If I owned an oil factor I would be putting my own commerical togeather to the effect of:

Showing some of their STUPID enviromental wacko commerical about how we buy so much oil from the middle east, then I would state something about how for YEARS, and DECADES we, the oil company, have wanted to drill here in America to be dependant but these people (show all the enviromental wackos at their demostrations, smoking their crack, tied to trees etc) and then state "But they won't allow us to do so", "It is they who FORCE us to be dependant on possible EVIL countries.

I'd make some bumper stickers kind of like:

Enviromental wackos = Terrioust supporter

(Show somebody hugging a tree) with the caption "We love terrioust"

I am telling you if I had some money I could bring these wacked out nuts to their knees, perhaps completely destroy them with THEIR OWN WORDS.

There are alot of Americans that will not be able to figure out for themselfs that it is because of enviromental wackos we are dependant upon EVIL countries for oil. After I was done with my commericals, and Ad blitz boy I would hate to be an envirometal wacko then, people would be hunting them down...

With all of that said thoughI still had to look to find out what if all oil companies import from Persian Gulf countries. I foud a page from the Department of Energy that has decent information the only problem is it is from 2001 and if they don't import from the Persian Gulf they don't make the list. The only company I can think of that doesn't import from the Persian Gulf is Hess. If ya'll can think of any others speak-up.

Is this the same group that made the commercial of the guy who says he only buys a small amount of drugs and he is sure that a small amount of that money he pays ends up supporting terrorism. Then the come-back is: "Then its ok to support terrorism a little bit?"

Are they saying that if you drive a Toyota hybrid then it's ok because you're only supporting terrorism a little bit?

 

The other thing these morons did NOT consider is this:

1. How many SUV's are there compared to other small cars that do get better gas mileage?

2. If you were to randomly pick say 20% of the families that own automobiles, how many own SUV’S?

3. Of those family’s that do own SUV’S how many miles do they drive a year?

4. Of those family’s that do own other automobiles that get better gas mileage, how many miles do they drive a year?

I would argue that these is a much higher percentage of people that do NOT own SUV’s and put as many if not more miles on their cars. So looking at it from a percentage point of view I would argue that they (the better mileage autos) are actually buying and burning A LOT more fuel on a whole.

You can NOT look at it logically unless you put the entire percentage of automobiles together. America is not importing oil to make gasoline for only SUV’S it is imported for ALL automobiles, thus percentage wise the better fuel mileage automobiles on a whole are using A LOT more gasoline (oil) then all the SUV’S on a whole.

It goes to show that the people behind such a STUPID and illogical ad campaign did NOT do ANY research on the subject. As I have maintained it was NOT their goal to do so anyway. Their goal is to, or was to misinform the public, as usual, in another attempt to CONTROL other people’s personal business and RIGHTS.

If I were apart of the Bush administration I would be taking advantage of the environmental wackos MAJOR mistake. I don’t know if these nut cases realize just how bad they screwed up this time.

 

I've only seen one of the commercials but the whole concept seem awfully ignorant to me.

I guess some people believe something and no matter how much common sence others try to instill in them they hold steadfast to their cause.

I have recently become involved in a site that Habibi posted a link to some time ago. I wouldn't normally get myself involved in that kind of thing but the arrogance and ignorance I see on that message board just pisses me off. They (the anti-SUV'ers) claim that people who drive SUV's and trucks are generally stupid rednecks so I try to sound as smart as I can. I realize that it really doesn't make any difference but I believe it's necessary to have two sides to the story. The site is: I don't care about the air

These people are getting too much press time. I don't dissagree that trucks can be more efficient and safe but I totally dissagree with the type of rhetoric being used . I hope that enough SUV and truck owners get a chance to show that they are intelligent so that these activists are put in their place.

As you correctly stated it really don't matter what you or I or anyone else say's or does, regardless of how many facts we present. They are a cult culture plain and simple they have one objective and that is to CONTROL the majority of the people because it is what their cult leaders want.

Hey wittom.....I read some of the posts on the site you listed above. On your post you said. "The people in the middle eastern region live in a very different culture from ours. They have beliefs that do not allow them luxuries" I keep hearing that one too. Guess it only applies to their avererage joe though....ever hear how many palaces their royalty/ leaders all own? The furnishings, the pools and the autos around those palaces? Makes me wonder how they get their average citizen to swallow the you are not supposed to have luxuries idea.

 

Thats a good question bwt. I think it's the way it goes in a dictatorship. Tell all the "regular" people that the need to suffer on earth to make it to ...well where ever they are supposed to go when they die. Tell these people this enough times and they believe it. I guess the leaders feel that they are entitled to the wealth. Maybe it's hard work being a dictator. Or maybe there is no one who will stand up and say "hey, we are out here starving to death, how about spreading some of the wealth!" So, we in the democratic societies are excessive because we aquire wealth. Most of us through hard work.

I don't have a lot of schooling, and consider my self far from being the smartest guy but I know enough to realize that there has been issues in that region of the world for a long, long time. I guess it's mostly about religion wich really makes no sence to me being that I'm not religious. Their issues with us, the citizens of this country, didn't begin just before 9/11 and I doubt that they see our SUV's as provocation.

I can't see a world where everyone has the same beliefs. In fact I think that would be boring. I would just like to see people with the freedom to believe what they wish. That's not preasantly the way it is in most of the middle eastern countries.
