Taurus water pump

Anyone ever changed a water pump on a 95 Taurus? There is a stud that is holding the thing from coming out and I can't figure out what to do... The stud is just above the lower rad hose conection and is hitting the inner fender before it makes it all the way out of the block... The nut that is on it...is well...on it....

Any suggestions? I really could use any suggestions at this point.

Also any idea how to get the metal neck that connects to the lower rad hose out of teh pump whil it is still in the car?

TIA
Stan

I think that you need to remove the engine mount on that side. Put a jack under the engine, then lower it slowly. You should be able to access everything from the fender well.

From under? I was thinking the other way...jack the engine slightly...it seems to be closer that way....

Thanks again for the reply...I'll try again tomorrow
