my friend eric is a manager for centurytel's internet tech support division... he has a wireless access point on his home network, so we can sit downstairs & get online with his laptop. also, i can slip a wireless nic in my ipaq and get online..

at home i have 2 different networks.. a 100mbit connection from the server to my pc, and a 10mbit phoneline network going to the computer downstairs..

Wireless is the only way to go! According to my friend Dustin once you have gone wireless you have finaly achieved "baller status". "Baller Status", includes owning your own house, driving an L, or other bad *** trucks, and the last key element- going wireless!

MaxPower,

I went there tonight and it wasn't on sale. It was regular price, $179.99. Where are you from? Maybe they have a special deal there or something.

Most of the stores in the US have 'em for the $99 price...

YMMV, I guess. "Let your fingers do the walkin"

they dont make it, its made by the same company that makes SMC. Here is a picture of the inside:

and here is a different brand :

haha, busted.

anyway, here is what toms hardware said about it.

use of the ADMtek 5106 Home Gateway Controller. This is a nice deal for Accton, but maybe mixed news for Microsoft, depending on who Microsoft chose to do its firmware. It seems that most of the ADMtek products have had their share of bugs, including problems with SPI firewall features and throughput, and Inbound port forwarding.

The MN-500 User Manual lists FCC IDs for the MN-510 and 520 USB and Notebook adapters that show they are also sourced from Accton. I think it's safe to assume that the remaining products are also Accton-sourced, and will be similar to their equivalent offerings from SMC.

I have been searching for a wireless solution that works for a long time. My home is concrete block and all the stuff I have tried doesn't work past 30 feet.

Does anyone have experience with the Linksys Router and Signal Booster? To be used with desktop PC's only at this time. I am just to lazy to run CAT5.... and need to get the net cable out of the living room
