Other than the stupid stickers on the bed that say 'SPORT', what does the package include??

nice rims and upgraded trim. Meaning if you have an XL SPort you get XLT mirrors and trim, etc.

Basically an appearance package

Other than the stupid stickers, you we get some trim.

I've got a '98 STX, which is the same as the Sport, the stupid stickers are a little different, that's all. I believe the package extras, added to the XLT group, were: color keyed bumpers and mirrors, 17" fancier ("Buzzsaw" on my '98) wheels, Good Year Eagle tires and the honeycomb grill insert.

The Sport looks "sportier" than the regular XLT, that's about it. If you want more on a Sport, you'll have to add it.

Hmm,

Mine is a XLT Sport and it did come with 17" wheels, but I dont like the look of them at all. It also has painted bumpers which look good -but wont for long... I like chrome for the durability
The fabric on the seats is kinda... durable looking? Not very plush or nice to look at perse, but rugged in the sporty idea I guess.

My local ford has a deal where for $500 you get a brand new set of 16" nice looking wheels (off of the stock 4x4 truck I think) with Goodyear RT/S (I believe). They have a few sets of these from when people buy aftermarket wheels at the time of purchase and dont think to ask for their originals back
Think I would be foolish to put them on my truck and sell the 17s for what I can get??

I got a 2002 xlt sport. The wheels are 17 inch aluminum wheels. Sorry for the spelling. I got the captain chairs and what looks to be a console out of a supercrew. Here is a big plus, a grand total of six cup holders. Six disk cd changer hidden behind the seat. Cloth seat which i am thinking about changing to sparco seats. By the way does anyone know how to take off the sport stickers. I really think the are a little lame.

Well since it's winter, use a hair dryer to warm up the sticker and slowly peel it off. If there is any residual sticky stuff, use WD40 to get it off then wax the area.

Invalid_Access,

We have the same truck, but you have the captain chairs, I dont.
(I ordered it like this intentionally (If we didnt have 3 small dogs, I woulda got the capt chairs for sure, but they like to loaf around the front with us)

I pulled my 4x4 sport decals off pronto, all I did was wait for a hot day, left the truck in the sun, and pulled them off with my fingers (slowly), then used goo gone to clean up any residual crapola, and washed the area right away with soapy water, and gave it a good rinse.

If your not in a warm climate, your best bet is to do what bikenut said, warm em up good with a hair dryer to get the glue soft, then gently use your fingers and pull and end off, anf take your time.

I prefer it this way because then you can apply wax over all the area.

Good luck!

One of the things at least on my 02 XL Sport is tht the rear end of the truck has already been lowered by at least 2 to 2.5". It makes it look sportier because the rear is more level with the front end. When I park next to my other F150, you can really tell the difference. My truck is white and I like having the color keyed bumpers and mirrors.

Does anyone know if the Sport has anything extra under the hood?
Both of my F150's are V6's and this one would kill my other truck and the older F150 is a standard while the 02 is an auto. It seems to have more power for the same engine and is also a smoother ride.

Thanks guys

There are no performance engine options with the sport package, same engines as the other trucks.

Good observation you make about the rear height, I noticed that too.
I had my truck parked beside some FX/4's at the dealership, and I noticed my *** end was a couple of inches lower.

We were trying to figure out how it was lower, they both appeared to have the same amount of leaf springs, even the salesman was scratching his head. It does seem to be leveled out better though, good eye on that one.

Habibi:I like my captains chairs most of the time, but they are not very practical. Sometimes three people wanna ride and there isn't any room for them. Plus i go to school and you really have to be careful with a bookbag not to scratch the console top, but if you just have to people riding these chairs can't be beat. By the way what do yall think of the truck.

I swapped my bumper over to the ford lightning one. Then i got those lights at advanced auto parts for like 60 dollars. I don't like my wheels either. One of those covers, that covers the lug nutz, already has a scratch on it.

Wink

I also have a 2002 supercab Sport. Mine is Bright Red. I really like this truck over the 2000 off road 4x4 i had before this. I have been thinking of adding fender flares like the 4x4's have. I like the interior over the standard Xlt interior that is why i went with the Sport package. I also wanted 17 inch wheels. I would like to see what the 17 inch chrome wheels would look like on this truck. When i first looked at the sport i wasnt't sure i would like the painted bumpers but the bumpers look real good in red. I just wish the front lower valance was more like the 4x4 one with fog lights.
