New order question

Just ordered a new 2013 today, Saturday. Dealer said they can't submit order until Monday, does this sound correct? Should I call Monday to get an order number?

Thanks for any help

Could have to do with there allocation. From where i'm sitting, it would make sense to get it ordered/build/delivered and get the $$$ in the bank as soon as possible.

There's an interesting discussion about Dealer Allocation and the ordering process on the link listed below. I don't know whether this is current (it was written a few years ago).

http://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/f...ocation-19747/

A couple of months ago, when I placed the order for my new truck the sales guy had to assign it a priorty of 19 (if I remember correctly). He said to call back in a week or so to see if he could get that bumped up to 10, which happened. From what I understand, this priority is something determined by the dealership. So what your priority number is might be a good follow-up conversation with the dealership.

It took about 8 weeks for my new truck to arrive. Transporting it from the factory to the dealer took up the bulk of the time.

One thing I did learn in talking with the sales guy, who I've known for several decades now, was interesting. When Ford gets the order in the system and Ford creates the invoice/VIN, the dealer is billed. In other words, that's when Ford charges the dealer for the unit. Thus the dealer is probably even more anxious than you are to get the unit delivered because the cost of the unit is against their credit with Ford and until they get your money, they are on the financial hook.

I was never blessed with much patience and would just as soon see my truck show up five seconds after they sent the order in. But eventually it arrived and all was well in my world.

I continue to be thankful for SETCHAN who shows great consideration by providing the service he does out of the kindness of his heart. He's probably one of the best customer service ambassadors Ford has (and I'm sure they don't even know about it).
