if you plan on touring the plant on the 23rd, don't make final plans till it gets closer to build day. It's quite possible that the build date might change, a day back or once in a blue moon, even ahead

I just got back from a 10 day camping vacation and am anxious to find out about what has been happening with my truck. It should have been built on July 23rd and is expected to be at my dealership this coming week. Unfortunately I never had a chance to make it down to Dearborne to take the tour, but it is still on my list.

your salesman can call Oakwood Transport and find out when they are shipping it out. Other from that, it's a surprise to them as well. Take your camera along and take pics of the truck.Especially front and rear bumpers and inspect them closely before taking delivery.

Thank you for looking into that for me. I will definately go over my truck with a fine tooth comb to make sure it is "100% Cherry" - as they used to say back in the day. My dealership are going to by applying a coat of Xzilon protectant to the outer skin of the truck - the latest and greatest protectant you can apply these days. Guaranteed to make the water bead off for years to come and the dried-on bug guts splattered across the grill, wipe off effortlessly. So, hopefully when they apply the Xzilon, they will note any damage from shipping and fix it before I freak out.

So, I promise that my next post to you will have photos of my new wheels! All the best to you and THANK YOU VERY MUCH for providing these updates to me and everyone else in the Forum. It adds to the excitement of waiting for that brand new Ford to arrive so much, I can hardly stand it.

Well it's finally here - it arrived at my dealership in Oshawa, Ontario yesterday afternoon at lunchtime. It was built in Dearborn on July 23rd and arrived 8 days later.

I found out that I just made the cut-off by two days for Red Candy paint! Ford has discontinued Red Candy for 2012 vehicles and my order was placed just in time (placed June 15). That explains why it was built so quickly too, I suppose - use up all the Red Candy paint at one time(?).

Anyway, here is a photo of my truck (in the pouring rain) yesterday after it arrived at the dealership.

SETCHAN - THANK YOU very much for tracking my truck from a simple VIN, to a "Build To" date, to the shipping date and now I get it tomorrow afternoon!
