Question Anyone want to elaborate on the low $$$ mods?

I just purchased a very clean '97 F350 PSD CC. I see lots of talk around here about the low $$$ mods that should be done first, but no one has elaborated on this. Anyone want to give it a shot? Cheap mods are my favorite!

My first plans are for an Amsoil by-pass system and a complete flush with the tranny with all Amsoil tranny fluid. Also will add a free flowing air filter like a K&N or such. After that, I am not sure what should be next. My goals are the same as everyone else with these trucks, more power and better milage.

BTW, best sites for information and upgrades?

first you add some good guages to undertsand where you are on boot, trans temp and exh temp in different circunstances.

Keep notes on those paprmaeters for 30-60 days until you understand what the truck is doing.

Next go fo airflow improvements. The Git Kit at BANKSPOWER.COM is a good add-on to give you a reasonalbe bump in power and torque.

MAKE sure you let whoever you buy from the vintage and age of the engine.

Good idea. Do you know of anyone making a good guage pod for these trucks? Looks like I need quite a few!

If you are in Houston, you should go check out my houston boys, diesel innovations...in NW houston off 290w...he has a web site..

Guage pods can be had at Western diesel, Geno's garage, Diesel Innovations, etc..

All these people sell guages as well...The more the better...

Dont forget to paint to match your interior color...
