What is the definition of Super Duty?
I mean, what is the difference between a Super Duty and a F250?
Just need some clarification........

Also...

What is the first year they started making both doors operable on a F250 super cab?

There are numerous Super Duty's. f250, f350, f450, f550. I don't know if there is a definative definition. My guess is that the term is just a marketing gimmick that is suppose to make us Super Duty owners feel like we've got a rugged, macho truck.
Which we do!!!

 

1997 thru 1999 a F250 was basically a F150 except for:
heavy duty suspension
7 stud wheels
V8 standard
the payload was 3350 instead of 2390 in the F150

In 1999 the Super Duty came out and the F250 was dropped in 2000.

Steve has asked about combining the F250 and Super Duty as there seemed to be very little activity for true F250s. That would be F250's from 1997-1999. Most of the posts were from misguided Super Duty owners. The 'true' F250's would find comfort in F150 forums for their trucks except for those 7 stud wheels to which the Super Duty owners could provide support.

 

The S/Duty is a H/D truck, the f250 that looks like the 150 is L/D the Superduty was a big success in 1999 & lead to the cancellation of the lite 250

 

Raoul: Just a minor error.. In 1997 they F250 HD's(old body style) and F250 LD's! Did we all forget about the Original Superduty's F-450's(old body style),just to confuse people even more!!!
