Question 6.2L oil & filter suggestions?

Just picked up a used 2014 F250, Super Cab 4x4, 6.2L, with 118,000 miles. Got a while before the next oil change is needed but what synthetic oil & filter brands would you suggest? Thanks.

5W20 Motorcraft synthetic blend and Motorcraft filter. Another option if you are going for extended drain intervals is Mobil 1 EP 5W20 and a Mobil 1 filter.

Any reason for the synthetic blend and not the full synthetic?

The MC synthetic blend is almost as good as a full synthetic and costs less. It's also what Ford recommends.

I won't be doing extended intervals; probably no more than 3500 miles. Truck will be used primarily at our farm so driving pattern won't always be consistent; time frame may be more of a factor sometimes than mileage. I'm not against using Motorcraft oil/filter; just never had an issue with not using Motorcraft in my old 1997 F150 4.6L. And since this is a newer truck and my first F250, was wondering what others were using. Especially since manufacturers always recommend their own products; even when made by another company.

I wouldn't recommend MC oil and filters if they were not top quality. You can use anything you want as long as it meets or exceeds Ford specs.

I use the MC filters and oil on most everything. Including lawn mowers.

It has to be the best oil and filters out there for the price.

I have never ever had an issue with it.

I even use the MC diesel motor oil in my Harley Sportster and run it for 3k and change it. Never an issue.

I even run the Motorcraft Diesel 10W-30 motor oil in my Kubota Diesel BX tractor .
