Jumping into the 9th Gen F-250 World
Well, as the title says, I've made the decision to purchase a 9th generation F-250. I've always loved how these trucks looked and now I have enough on the "to do" list to justify it without getting too much grief. However, it seems as though the decision on what to get isn't as easy as I thought it would be so any input would be welcome.
This truck will live at my lakehouse and not see a ton of miles every day. Likely a 100 or so a weekend, running to the dump, hauling the 6,000lb boat from time to time and cruising around for fun in general. That said, I'd like to have something that I can keep for a long time and take care of because, well, old trucks are cool as hell. I'm leaning towards the 460 for the fun factor and the fact I don't really care about the MPGs but I'm also seeing some diesel trucks in the price range as well which I hadn't considered In VA where I am, I can find something with minor rust that I can fix for around 5K (the top end of my budget).
So, that being said, I'd love input on what might be the right fit of longevity, reliability, and fun but won't suffer from sitting undriven for a few days at a time. I'm open to ideas and input. Thoughts?
