F-350 Platinum flat out

Like the post says, he tried to do this run at Bonneville, but Mother nature didn't cooperate. And while he's disappointed with the top speed, I think it's pretty impressive for something shaped like a brick.

Must be this guys first and only diesel. You don't have a fast engine, just loads of torque. Wanna go fast? You'll need multiple deep overdrives. I wonder what he had this 4.25" stroke engine turning on the tach. My money says he was close to having his engine all over Utah.....and not in a good way.

Personally, I get more of a kick out of winding a diesel up with tall gears, and only going 50 mph. LOL

I just rode in a Thomas Safe-T-Liner decked out school-bus (a glorified limo/school bus), and the gearing on that thing was hilarious. When the driver was doing 72, it was almost at red line, like ~3k and the red was at 3,500. It was choochin' alright. When the driver would accelerate, it would almost red line every single time. I love it when I ride in those buses. Yes, I'm weird... but who doesn't like the sound of a diesel? (Most people, I guess).
