2012 F250 Super Duty gas flex fuel, indicator came on 2 days ago. Today while driving long story short, lost all electrical but was able to hobble home till it died. Bought new battery and started fine, all panel came back including the indicator light. Restarted twice thinking I had to cycle it or something but it came back on. I have a 12 mile drive to an AutoZone to get it diagnosed but don't want to get stranded. Any suggestions?

 

The charging system does have to be tested. Quite likely the alternator went south.

 

Flat or bad batteries are very hard on alternators.

Likely your alternator went south.
