Wheel swap 2005 F350 to 2001 F350

I own a 2005 F350 and put custom wheels on it. I would like to put the 2005 F350 18" OEM wheels on a 2001 F350 that came stock with 16' OEM wheels. Both trucks are diesel.

Will the 2005 18' wheels fit on the 2001 F350?

I was looking this up earlier in the year. If I recall correctly, no.
The 2004 and earlier are 170 mm bolt pattern, and the 2005 up are 6.5" or 165 mm.
You could always check it the old fashioned way...MK

Yes and no.
The bolt pattern is the same unless it is a duallie (DRW).
The offset is different and will require at minimum 1.75" spacer, most that do this use 2" spacers.

That is incorrect.
Starting with the body style change in 1998 for the 1999 model year trucks the wheel bolt pattern on Super Duties has remained 8 X 170mm except for later duallies that used 8 X 200.

The 8 X 165.1mm (6.5") bolt pattern was used on the previous generation F series, now commonly known as old body style or OBS, and also on E series vans through 2014.

I finally did it the old fashioned way of actually putting one wheel from the 2005 on the 2001 (both are SRW trucks). It fits well. I didn't have a tire on the wheel, but will use spacers if needed.
Thanks,

I finally did it the old fashioned way. Since I had put custom wheels on my 2005 F350, I took one of the 2005 OEM wheels and tried it on the 2001 F350. It fits perfectly. Both trucks are SRW (not dually). I did not have a tire on the wheel and will cross the bridge of using spacers if needed when I get to that point. Thanks

Thanks for the info Sam I Am, I should have looked at what I had and suggested...You are correct. The 2012 SR wheels I have are 170mm bolt pattern. That just opened up a few more years to look at.
