Yup... good posts Dave. They sound weird. I'm not into them at all. Dodge had to really play with the viper for it to sounds good. The firing order also sends off that whiney hollowish tone. I wouldn't want it too loud, it doesn't sound like a v8

You know, that is true that I don't particularly like how Vipers sound . . . and I've heard and driven a half dozen with exhausts.

I still think it'll sound fine and I'd definitely put an exhaust on it if it was my truck. Loud and not Vsux or a 4 banger is good.

Oh, I think V12s sound horrible. Smaller displacement Italian ones anyway. They're almost as bad as a 4 cylinder to me. They are WAY too raspy. Absolute bee's nest

The V10 trucks just sound odd with aftermarket exhaust.

Skip the "cold" air intakes that usually just pull in hot underhood air, and underdrive serpentine ain't quite gonna make a dent in the amount of gas those ten cylinders drink.
