gas mileage?
gas mileage?
What kind of gas mileage do you powerstroke boys get? I have a 98 F150 with the 5.4 and the ORP and with the air on I am lucky to get 10 in town. I want to lift it but gas mileage will be worse.
The correct term is "fuel" milage. If we ever tried to put gas in the fuel tank, it tends to do really nasty things to the engine. (up to and including needing it rebuilt)
My milage is between 10mpg and 22mpg. 10-12mpg is towing my 30' travel trailer. Usually it's right at 12 but I will see 10 in the mountains but you gotta realize that I'm passing everything on the hwy!! In town and not towing I see 19mpg. That's with my very bad leadfoot too. If I even think you want to race at the light, that leadfoot acts up
Interstate driving I see 19-22mpg. I have to keep it under 73mph but over 65mph to get my best milage. Towing is the same, if I have to tow at 55mph, then my milage drops. But go up to 65mph and the engine pure purrs. These engines love to work
(Mach1, that should just about cover the question you asked in the other thread too)

I hope nobody is getting any kind of GAS mileage with their diesel. Gasoline just doesn't burn well in a diesel. Seriously, our trucks are getting between 12-17 mpg with mixed applications. We have found that adding an additional snorkel to the air cleaner helps with fuel economy.
