6.2L Mileage Gains with a programmer?

I've recently acquired a 2011 F250 with a 6.2L. I am averaging a 14/16 MPG combined and 9 MPG when towing. I was wondering if anyone was using a programmer and received any mileage gains. Please let me know what brand you are using and the gain increase. I'm hoping to get a little better than the 14/16.

Thanks,
MC

I think that's about as good as it gets.

welcome to the world of having a 8,000 lbs truck and a gas engine

these trucks are bricks ......mileage gains through the use of a programmer are going to be tough.....you will get improved shifts and a little bit of "seat of the pants performance" though....

End cost per mile isn't gonna be any better though - diesel here is 40 cents more than gas and diesels have higher periodic maintenance costs. You no longer get a diesel for economy, you get it for power and longevity.

People keep saying that. Do the math

I get 13-14 mpg with a lifted truck on 35's where a stock gasser gets 9-10 mpg

IN THE CITY!

I'm easily 17-18 mpg highway

Again, people keep saying how diesel is so much more expensive. The math doesn't support that. I had a 09 Mustang that got 14 mpg in the city running 92 octane. Strangely it costs me the same $$$ for fuel to drive this truck

As for maintenance, each oil change costs x2 of a gasser. Chump change for the power and mpg gains IMO

Sorry to OP for the hijack. Just annoys me to see the "high" cost of fuel and maintenance as reasons to avoid a PSD. Sure they're factors, but nothing like people like to blow out of proportion

Exactly, sure the oil change is more expensive, but the blackstone oil reports let me space out the changes for longer periods.
