I've got no clue!! My truck is 1 1/2 years old and I've not had anything major go on it. I would suggest you try www.ford-diesel.com with 15k+ members, a few have bound to have had to replace a water pump. How many miles has your friend got on his PSD?? These things have a 100k mile warrenty on the engine, make sure he checks to see if that pump is covered.

Hey Tina----

Yes the water pump is $500...this is a new one, last time I heard there wasn't anyone that rebuilt them.....

Tina had it....100K warranty on engine and WATER PUMP!!!!!

One minor drawback....$100 deductible....

Take it to Ford...If Ford did it,,Tell him get his money back...If Independent then he is out of pocket...Unless Ford will honor the repair bill....

Worth a try....

Common problem...Common complaint...

If you dont know...this is what is worth while about these boards ...learn from others mistakes....
