Just picked up a 2006 F250 superduty crew cab 6.5 box. The manual says 7.7 litres of oil.. is this true, and can I run syn, and what do you guys recommend. Has 130K on it, beautiful looking truck, turns heads everywhere, will post pic soon. $17k, is this a good price, it seems like a good deal in these parts (Ontario, Canada). Thanks.
7 quarts, which is 6.6 liters. The correct oil to use is 5W20, you may use synthetic. Do not use Fram oil filters.
Motorcraft makes a high quality semi-synthetic 5W20 which costs the same as ordinary dino oil, and the Motorcraft oil filters are as good as any - and they cost the same as other standard filters. In the US, both are generally available at Walmart.

is it an xl, xlt, lariat, kr?
and i would not pay 17k (17,203 US dollars) for a gas 3/4 ton with 130k miles. around here you can get a well optioned diesel with around that mileage for that or less.

Thanks guys. Its a XL SUPERDUTY 35 inch Mickey Thompsons, 3 inch susp lift, aftermarket chrome grill and front lights, factory plow package, air, window, locks, cruise, all the regular stuff, excellent shape. That mileage was in kilometres, it is 80,000 miles on the truck. Thanks for the motorcraft tip, I shall do that.
