Question about a 2v v10
Question about a 2v v10
I read that the 3v v10 made 80% of its torque at 1000 rpms and 90% of its torque at 1500 rpm's. Does the 2v v10 have the same torque curve and what it the max torque on say a 1997 2v v10, i've read different numbers?

1997 was the first year of the V-10, and it was only available in the E-vans.
As found in the 1997 Ford E-Series van, the Ford Triton V-10 is a 20-valve engine with a 3.35-inch bore, a 4.16-inch stroke and a 9:0-to-1 compression ratio. This engine is rated at 265 horsepower at 4,250 rpm and 410 foot-pounds of torque at 2,750 rpm.
2005 was the introduction of the 3V version in the Super Duty.
The 2005 and up Excursion still had the 2V version for some reason.

It was, and it was the only year that had the 5 speed Torqshift with the V-10.

Random thought...sorry, not trying to highjack the thread, but it still amazes me the new EB motor makes as much torque as a v10 at a lower RPM. Crazy...
