There are very good 6.0 solutions available through the aftermarket. Strong foundation to build on. The 6.4 will have its day. There are plenty of people out there making lots of power but yes I see them when they are broke. I dont go to the doctor when i healthy. As soon as the aftermarket steps up to solve all these issues it will be better but for now Ford just bandaids them. 6.4 was just to get them thru untill the 6.7 was done. The 6.7 was being designed before the 6.4 was even being put into a truck.

Haven't had a problem yet on my truck other than I don't like the crappy mileage with a regen. But I plan on tuning and doing the DPF delete.

Some interesting info.

True, but Navistar is still putting the 6.4L in a lot of applications. Most of the problems with the 6.4L in Ford trucks are caused by Ford's modifications to the engine, not Navistar. The benefit of Ford building their own Mexistroke is that they don't have anyone to blame but themselves if the engine has a problem. Ford is much more likely to fix the problem instead of what it did with the old Powerstroke engines, which was to just sit and point their finger at Navistar. No more plausible deniability!

Bottom line is of you buying one of these out of warranty then you need to be prepared. Im not blaming navistar or my employer. **** breaks and these have a record. Just know what your getting youself into!

Amen to that! Mine only has 19,500 miles on the clock right now, and my three year bumper-to-bumper warranty just expired. Two more years, and I will be considering trading mine in.
