I'm needing to remove my air vents in my 2008 SD. Been driving on dirt roads lately and now it's time to clean up the truck but there's dirt inside the air vents. Was going to take them off and throw em in the dish washer on low heat.

On my 08 150 I had you stuck your two fingers in on each side and pressed out and they came out. I cant get that way to work on the SD.

 

Hmm, haven't had to take mine out yet. I'll take a look in the daylight.

I think I'm going to try a little harder tomorrow when I'm on my lunch break at work. It shouldn't be to hard!

 

well I had to take the trash out so I jumped in the truck and was messing with it a little more. Still couldnt get them to come out...

 

Yeah I didn't even try to fight it, I just grabbed a pair of snips and cut them out and covered the hole with dynamat.

 

That sounds dumb... How are you suppose to get AC in the cab if the vents are covered?

 

Oh lol. I thought you were refering to the vents in the back of the cab. Not sure what I was thinking

 

Screwed with 'em a little in the cold today and I can't see how they would come out from the outside. I'm guessing inside if you move enough junk out of the way, but then I got cold, and I don't like to be cold on my days off.

Never mess with the plastic parts in a vehicle when it's cold outside. You'll just end up cracking them. Do it on a warm day.
