Cat Replacement

Hey all,
So i started a thread a while back about my exhaust stinking, and Ive done a few things since. Replaced plugs and coils to, and both o2 sensors. And tried about 20 different injector and fuel system cleaners. Still nothing. Exhaust still stinks like sulpher (eggs) and mpg is still horrible. I think the only thing left I can do it replace the cat. However, I cant find one for the truck that doesnt cost $1000 or more. i was told to get a universal cat. Both my o2 sensors are before the cat, both upstream, no downstream after the cat at all. Does anyone know which universal cat I should use? Theres so many different ones that will fit, Im lost! Thanks!

I wouldn't do anything to the cat till you find what's causing it to run excessively rich.

Any ideas? Im running out of ideas, and so is my mechanic. Ive seemingly checked or replaced everything that would cause it to run rich. Im starting to think that maybe its not running rich and the cat is junk causing the smell and poor mileage. Does that make sense?

Drop the pipe off the back of the cat and take a look in there - if it looks nasty just take a drill and a screwdriver and ream it out. See if that makes a difference. Start it and rev it up before reattaching the pipe to blow out all the guts that you loosened.
