glow plugs...??

I own a 01 f350 7.3, and this morning it took me 40 minutes to get it started!!!!!!! it dropped to about 20 degrees last night and it was plugged in from about 6 pm last night till 6am this morning. my question why did it take so long to get it started it has never taken me this long...could it be bad plugs or a relay or something??? im tryin to stay away from ether but looks like I jus might have to use it.
thanks

Only problem with the glow plugs on a PSD is you gotta pull the valve covers to get 'em. Takes about 2-3 hours.

I would first start with checking for power on the relay itself. Do you have a multimeter?

Check the relay, but if its taking that long with it plugged in, I'm thinking you have other problems.

probably a gelling of fuel issue or a ICP system leak... If a good condition 7.3 is plugged in, it should start w/o cycling the plugs
