Powertrain warranty in 6.7

Does anyone know why Ford is only giving a 60,000 mile warranty on the 6.7 diesel powertrain? Kinda strange, being that the motors are supposed to be getting better and better and yet the warranty is getting worse. I could understand a lower mileage warranty with the 6.0, but not the rest of them. I drove one of those new 6.7s this week. Nice trucks, smooth and a lot of power, but i'm still looking for an old reliable and better fuel mileage 7.3.

I think it has to do with it being a diesel engine and the fact that most of it's use is in a commercial/industrial environment.

Then again, my '07 F150 has the 4.2l V6 which is also an industrial engine that most fleet operators bought for their trucks and that didn't have a reduced warranty.

But I agree, it should come with a much longer warranty for consumers with proof that there it is not used for commercial purpose or for-hire.

The diesel engine warranty is still 5year 100k, I believe the 5 year 60k warranty is for gas engines only. I could be wrong though

My 6.4L has 3-year, 36k-mile bumper to bumper warranty, 5-year, 60k-mile powertrain warranty, and 5-year, 100k-mile engine warranty.

Ok i probably got confused on that. The 7.3, 6.0, 6.4 and probably the 6.7 all have a 100,000 mile warranty on the engine. I was thinking the powertrain warranty is the same. So if i understand correctly the powertrain warranty from the 7.3 to the 6.7 has not decreased?

Actually, the warranty on the powertrain (other than the diesel engine) was upped from three years/36K mi to 5/years/60K mi. I believe this change was offered with the 2007 models (and any leftover '06s with an in-service date after the increased powertrain warranty took effect).
