Garage Log Book

I'll post this here seems I only have superdutys (except for a 79 Bronco).

Anyone keep a log of what they do in their garage? Today I decided to start keeping track of work I did on my vehicles and toys. I'm going to get a book or something to write down dates and details like milage and such.

For instance today, I put the rear axle back in my quad, changed the left front lower control arm on it and changed the oil and fuel filter on my wifes
F250. Should be useful for keeping records. Maybe I've just spent too many years filling out work orders.

Sounds like a great idea. You could even use MS Excel instead of a book. I have been thinking about moving an old PC out to the garage. I could listen to music on it, watch videos on it, keep all of my electronic manuals on it, and create a log of what I do and when I do it.

I don't have room to spare for a desktop (which is my old computer). But if I had an old laptop that would be perfect. I think I'm going to stay with the book idea for now. I have music covered with a cd/mp3 player and satelite radio (just hook up in the garage today). I don't have any electronic manuals except for Komatsu 830 haul trucks and Cummins QSK60 engines. Those aren't useful at home. Having access to the internet would be nice for searching info though. Sometimes I bring my laptop up in the garage for that. Maybe I'll look into a cheap laptop later on.

Ha! funny to read this thread. I keep a spreadsheet on my crackberry with my maintenance history on my rides. Mostly just oil changes and stuff though, nothing big. I like (well not really) seeing how much oil continues to rise when I buy it all.
