If you are that obsessed with gas mileage, maybe you need a car, not a truck.........

So is buying a 3/4 ton truck and bitching about the mileage. And if you think the slightly better mpg of a diesel will ever pay off, your nuts.

If you want a truck that WORKS, you gotta pay. If all you want a truck for is the coolness factor and something that can bring stuff home from Home Depot, get a Ranger with a 4 banger.

I have a ranger as my DD and is actually my 2nd one. I had a 94 when I first started driving and now have a 98 that I bought in college and have had it for 7 years. I have to say they're not the coolest, but have picked up chicks in them.

Once you get a diesel you will never go back. The size, power, sound. MPG are ok. I had a tuned 6.0 that got 16 mpg in town. My 6.4 is getting 14 in town now, no tunes yet. I loved my 150 but getting the diesel I can't go back.

I have the '10 F250 with the 6.4L ~ I get MAYBE 15 mpg combined city / highway, BUT... I get 11 + towing my 11,000 lb (or more, depending on how much we pack) 5'er! Yes, people like to bash the 6.4, but mine's been great so far! I will keep mine stock ~ no mod's ~ I like my warranty and the truck does great without anything else. Best of luck!
