whats the difference?

How much more does a 5.4 f250 supercrew shortbox weigh than a f150 supercrew shortbox? What are the main differences between the two? My buddy says the 1/2 tons weigh the same as the 3/4 tons I find that hard to believe. thanks!

Your buddy is an idiot. I'd guess somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500lbs more.

First of all, an F150 Screw SB has a 5.5' bed, while an F250 Screw SB is a 6.75' bed. The biggest difference between the two is going to be the weight of the frame and rear axle. The F150 has a fully boxed frame, but weighs much less due to the sheer thickness of the F250 frame. The Super Duty frame is a C-channel and is made to flex during towing. It is about 1.2" thick in places. The rear axle on the Super Duty is much heavier as well. My guess is that there is probably about 1000 to 1500 lbs difference in weight between the two trucks.
