just bought an 05 amarillo.

yeahp i just traded my 02 supercrew f150, and bought an 05 amarillo edition f250, its got the 6.0, 100,000 miles, 6 inch lift, 18's, 35 nitto trail grapplers. not familiar at all with these 6.0's besides the head gasket/head stud problem. i am not going to chip it or anything. can someone please explain this EGR delete, and if i should do it or not? also anything else i should be aware about? anything i should do, or stay away from? also i really need help on some exhaust for this truck, its all stock except for the lift, i was thinking a 4 inch from the turbo back? no cat or muffler? how good will that sound? how will it affect the performance? any thing i should do to help the turbo lag? i hear the 6.0s have bad turbo lag? any information would be greatly appreciated. hopefully doing all the paper work tomarrow, and will be bringing the truck home, trust me pictures will come A.S.A.P.. sorry if i am rambling on, i just have always dreamed about owning a f250 6.0 !!

It can only help to delete the EGR on a 6.0, there are numerous kits on the market ranging in price from around $350 to $1200 but they all pretty much do the same job. Just google it also anything else i should be aware about? Headgaskets, any thing EGR related failures, oil cooler, injectors, FICM's(fuel injector control module). These are the most common I would say anything i should do, or stay away from? Head studs, EGR delete, coolant filter, oil filter bypass, Exhaust. These mods make for a pretty solid DD also i really need help on some exhaust for this truck, its all stock except for the lift, i was thinking a 4 inch from the turbo back?Yup no cat or muffler?Yup how good will that sound?Very good how will it affect the performance?Lower EGT's mostly any thing i should do to help the turbo lag?6.0's have very little lag i hear the 6.0s have bad turbo lag? any information would be greatly appreciated. hopefully doing all the paper work tomarrow, and will be bringing the truck home, trust me pictures will come A.S.A.P.. sorry if i am rambling on, i just have always dreamed about owning a f250 6.0 !!

IMHO a straight pipe is a straight pipe. Mine is just a custom 4" all the way back.

I've seen them on my local dealer's lot the past few years. They're sweet trucks, I'm just not crazy about the yellow paint.

I'd be curious to see the interior. Congrats on the new truck.

The Amarillo edition is just a Lariat with a solid yellow paint job, Amarillo decals on the fenders and a unique black leather interior similar to the Harley truck.

And last but not least, cleaned up with my 24's and 37's on it. They are forsale/for trade in the classifieds in the 2004-08 parts and accessories.
