Fog lights

My father is looking to put some fog lights back on his 02 F350, he had the factory fogs but we had to remove them to install a front mounted receiver hitch (he uses this for launching his fishing boat when he has the slide-in camper in the bed).

So this brings up a couple quick questions:
Where do you guys with aftermarket fogs have them mounted?
What brand and models are you guys running?

I installed a front hitch on my 06 last year and utilized the the OEM brackets and lights. I flipped the brackets and swapped the brackets (passenger side to driver side). The bottom bracket hole does not lineup perfect, so you can not attach it (that is what I did) or you can make the hole larger.
I also removed the long screw and spring along with the push pins thingys that held the light to the brackets. I replaced these push pins with small bolts with nylock nuts, tightened these down once I had the aim of the lights where I wanted it. The lights no longer are in the bumper housing they are now partially out in front of bumper but work just fine.

Here is the link where I got the information.

I just ended up ordering some Hella FF75 fogs for the old mans F350. We are going to mount the in the stock location, on each side of the license plate. Now I just have to search and see if I can find a connector for the Hellas that will plug into the stock fog light plugs. Anyone have any idea where to find a connector like that?

Some people like them, but the foglights on my F350 are almost useless. Well, maybe not totally useless. I guess they are a backup in case I hit some deer at night and knock the main headlights out....

I've got 100-watt Warn spotlights mounted on my bumper...and they are brighter than my headlights!

I ended up finding a connector so that we can just plug the Hella's into the stock wiring harness. The Hella's should be a bit better than the stock fogs. The stock fogs are a 45w bulb and the Hella is 55w. Now if everything will show up and if I can get time to get it installed before my old man takes the truck and 5th wheel to Florida for 6 weeks.

Freeky, granted the lights that you have would be great to have. But a little over kill for my old man.

Yeah, but I wasn't even referring to the ones on top of my bumper. The ones mounted in the bumper are brighter than the PIAA's on top. They came with the Warn bumper.

I agree with Zach. You'd be surprised what a set of 9005 Hella 65 watt bulbs will do in there. Yes, that's not the OEM bulb, but they fit and make one hell of a difference. We've got them in 4 or 5 Super Duties and the drivers love them.

I got home from work today, and there were a couple of packages sitting at the door of my shop. So it looks like this weekend I will head over to my old mans house to install them. I will post a couple pics once they are installed.

I canceled that order. The fella at NAPA accidentally ordered the Blue HID lights conversion kit. Not just the 65W bulbs....
