Thinking of justing into a SD, tell me what you think

For a long time I have been wanting to get a into a SuperDuty, but the prices on a clean, low mileage SD with the 7.3L is just plain nuts. And after calling every Ford dealer in a 100 mile radius yesterday I have now found one for a good price, a 1 owner 02 F350 XLT, SC, DRW, 4X4, 7.3L/auto 70,000 miles for $14,000. It is getting traded in at a dealership in about 4 weeks when his new truck comes in, and the 02 just had tie rod ends replaced and also just got 6 new tires in the last 5000 miles. And it turns out that I know the current owner, he is a retired union heavy equipment operator and only used the truck for driving to work and other misc. stuff like that. As far as I know the truck is in very good condition. I called my buddy Will, who's dad is very good friends with the current owner, and Will is going to ask his dad if the truck has had any issues or any accidents that I don't know of.

Granted I don't need a DRW right now, but the nice thing about getting a DRW is that it was enable us to use my parents slide-in pick-up camper, since it has a weight of 4100lbs. And since my parents only use the pick-up camper 2-3 times a year, they use thier 5th wheel the rest of the time, just using theirs would save us money instead of buying a camper of our own right now, although we will eventually.

I am going to talk to the dealer next week about trading/selling him my 04 F150. And he said that I have first dibs of the truck.

So what do you guys think??

Have you thought about just dealing with the owner and working out a better deal, and then selling yours privately?Does sound pretty good though even as it stands.

That truck for $14k is pretty damn good. I know trucks are generally cheaper down there, but up here that truck as it sits would be listed around $20k or more.
