I no the chips work in the gasers, but just bought the Powerstroke and was just wondering if chipping the beast is worth while.

Cool

Make a stop over at www.ford-diesel.com and do a search. There is TONS of info on chipping and more than enough to answer any ??? you might have...

But as for the power differnce, it like day and night, B&W tv and color, diesel and gasoline, rich and poor...well you get the idea. I got the Banks stinger kit, you can stop over at www. getpower.com and they have a lot info also.

Hi Champ,

Please feel free to give us a shout if you would like all the specific details about Superchipping your Powerstroke diesel.

The short answer to your question is "Yes", the Superhcips work even *better* in the Powerstroke diesels than they do in the gasoline engines in the Ford trucks, simply because we can make larger power gains.

The smallest power gain for the 1999 & newer Powerstroke diesel from the Superchip is 50 horsepower, and 100 lbs./ft. of torque. It will also help improve your fuel mileage as well. This works just the opposite on the diesels as compared to gasoline engines, in that the mileage gains on the diesel will happen only when it's under a load. For example if driving empty, when you're going 75 & faster you'll see better mileage than before at those speeds, and anytime you're towing a load, you'll get better mileage using the Superchip than without it in that same situation.

Because it is a turbocharged engine, and one that is extremely de-tuned from Ford, the power gains are very large, and the engine can safely handle the additional power.

In the automatics the shifts are firmed up, and of course the top speed limiter is removed as well.

If you'd like specifics, details, etc., give us a shout and we'll be happy to help you get whatever info you need, without a sales pitch.

Best of luck with your Powerstroke,

Cool

Champ, I have a 99 PSD and added the 50/100 chip, it's great!!! I bought mine from Mike (above), great service, FAST shipping, and very knowledgeable!!

Currently getting 16.2 mpg in city and 20.97 mpg on highway by my calculations, not the computer. I highly suggest getting at least a Pyro installed or the pyro/boost/trans temp gauges.

Exclamation

A local store here in the big city of Indian Trail has them. The chrome part is metal and they have several versions of them. One is as shown in the photo with "powerstroke" in gold, and the others have powerstroke in either black or Ford blue.

They sell them for $29.00, not sure if they ship or not. I have had many e-mails about it and I am willing to help out if possible. Send me an e-mail if you want one ray@kirbycuttin.com.
