Checked out a new F250 Super Duty

While getting service yesterday at the dealer I walked out on the lot and looked at the new trucks. First one I sat in was a 2009 F250 Super Duty. VERY nice truck. 6.4L Powerstroke diesel. Leather and all the goodies. Didn't care much for the color...green ext with tan interior but super nice non the less.

They are nice looking trucks. Hoever to me, the interior kind of looks like rubbermaid storage containgers with all the ridges and textures.

I agree somewhat. They do look a little like rubbermaid. I also sat inside an 07 or 08 Z71 Silverado. ICK! Dash and the complete door panels were hard textured plastic. They looked VERY cheap compared to F150's. Very cold cheap looking controls. The Chevy interior was NO comparison to the Ford. I honestly would put my 07 up against a Chevy for looks and interior luxury any time.

The new Super Duty do look nice both inside and out. But, I personally wouldn't get a 6.4L. My father was just looking at ordering a 2010 F350 with the 6.4L, to replace the problematic 05 F350 6.0L that he has now. But after going to get a price at a second dealer (local small town ma & pa dealer) the owner of the dealership said that he wouldn't even order a 6.4L any more. He said that they have had too many problems, and actually have 2 of them in the shop right now with the motors out. So dad ditched the 2010 idea and I ended up finding him a 02 F350 7.3L with only 53,000 miles. One of the best things is that he has put about 250 miles on so far and averaged 17.8 mpg for the first 200, he never saw anything close to that with the 6.0L.
