All cleaned up, a few pics...
The SS ones you posted are sweet too, but I don't think they had those back then. One advantage is - you can periodically polish 'em out and you NEVER have to worry about any flaking if the chrome platers didn't do a good job.
BUT...regarding the SS type
FYI (for those who may not know): WLL stands for 'Work Load Limit'

I REALLY LIKE this SS one too: ( a decent 8k lbs WLL rating)...and just ordered it ~ oh well, you can never have enough shackles

The only other downfall of having a nice looking D-shackle is that someone may try and rip-em off...and at $50+ for these (SS price) it's something to consider.
Hope this help..

Yeah, you're right about that! I tightened my scres up on mine pretty tight, and they were only $23 each.
LOL! I know! I've been thinking about putting a roller fairlead on there, just so it doesn't look naked. I really can't see the Warn 16.5ti being feasible, as it is over $1600 at the cheapest place I can find it. I am looking at the Superwinch EP16.5. At only $900, it seems very similar to the Warn.
Just an update on the SS shackle I ordered...it came in and is very nice. Instead of 316SS it's 304SS. It's actually rated at WTT 4 3/4T (9600lbs) which is the same as my Warn one...no complaints
Which site did you order the SS shackle from?

As mentioned...although the description says '316' which is rated at 8000 lbs the one that came in is even better using '304' and rated at 9600 lbs.

Thanks RR, but you would really die if you saw how bad my paint looks. I bought the truck a year ago after it sat on the dealer's lot for a year. I don't know what is worse, the bird droppings that accumulate on vehicles on a dealer's lot or the way that dealers wash vehicles. I need a clay-bar job really bad.

As for Claying, that is a good start but you should polish that sucker too.
Being as new as it is, I would clay it then throw some Poorboys Pro Polish on that sucker then put some nice wax or sealer (or both) on it.
let me know if you have specific questions, be glad to help ya.

Thanks RR! I really do enjoy your posts on the cleaning and detailing board, but it makes me feel so...unclean. I wish I had the patience that you do to make the finish look as good as yours does.
Hey, mine isn't that bad. It's just bad compared to RR's truck. His truck is always so clean, it makes me feel guilty. I really haven't done anything to mine except keep a good coat of wax on it. That really doesn't help the damage done by a year on a dealer lot.
Pagnew, your truck is awesome too. I'm just always glad to talk to people about trucks.
