Tire pressure for 305's ?????
Tire pressure for 305's ?????
I just put on my M/T 305' ATZ's. Max sidewall tire pressure says 65. I put on a tad early because iv'e been waiting two plus months and it was actually 60 recently in Feb. Anyway, the back, 1000lbs of salt look good at 45 psi. The front didn't look good. So, I have them at 55psi, 800 lb plow plus motor weight. Anyone have any input?
Thanks,
Lance

On the road stick with what the mfg suggests. It'll give you the best all round ride / tire wear / gas mileage.

I have always run at about 80% of max rated pressure. That is a good rule of thumb. A lot of times the owner’s manual will run you at a higher pressure in the rear when towing or hauling. you didn't mention what the load rating was on the new rubber. that is a factor also.
I have heard of people running at max pressure for better mpg’s, but are you saving enough in fuel to buy new tires because you didn’t get the full mileage out of them because they prematurely wore down the center from being overinflated?

Me too...mine are at 65 psi.
