Promcomp 6inch Lift

Hello All,

Anyone here have the Procomp Lift on their F250 4x4? I am looking to get just a bit more clearance on my truck, So I was thinking some 35's should do the trick. I have been trailing it a bit lately and keep getting hung up on the transfer cases.

I have looked around and have come to realize that all the kits re pretty much the same in my price range.

The Setup I have decided on.
Dual Shocks up Front along with the hoops to support them, New Radius Arms, Steering Dampers. Single Shocks out back, with new springs and Extension Blocks Air Bags. This will all be dampened with Biltstien's 5100's all the way around.

This will then come along with 18inch wheels with some BFG-AT's (E rated that is).

So what do you think, any advice on this setup?

Ok so nothing on this, awe man! Well one bump and I will let it die I guess. I am looking adding a stabilizer to the rig also. Replace the Stocker. I have purchased a dual setup from local shop. Its a Superlift Branded unit. Right out of the box I am not impressed, the instructions show that its for a Dodge Ram. I am sure its a some what universal. But I am thinking of returning it for a Fabtech Dual unit. Just like the look of them a lot better. Seem to do the trick for most, so any thoughts?

No experience with the procomp kit, I noticed its probably the cheapest of the 6 inch superduty lifts out there. I know they make several different kits that come with different lift setups such as leaf springs or rear block with an aal. Which one were you looking at?

I am looking at the kit that raises the front 6 and adds the hoops for dual shocks up front. Then new leafs in the rear, no blocks. So the front kit is $1799.00 and the Rear is $189.00 each side. This doesn't include the shocks, so that is another $69.00 each X 6 for the Bilstein 5150. So the total ticket was not what I would call cheap by any means, but I do understand when you look at other System like Rise and others its the lower cost for sure.

I also got the Superlift Dual Steering Stabilizer Unit tonight. Not overly impressed with it, the instructions are for a Dodge and the nuts and bolt bag seems to be the same also. So we will see what a call to the local shop brings to light. Delay, delay, delay. New Toys and I can't make use of them yet. Doh!

Thanks for any Feed back.

Oh I see. Well personally I think Rize makes the best bolt on radius drop kit out there right now as far as engineering, quality and durability are concerned. It runs around $1200 for the kit its self(front only with no shocks) and about another $200 for blocks or $600 for leafs. I think the reason the kit your looking at is so pricey is because of the dual front shock mounts it comes with. You could always go with the above setup and buy the dual shock mounts separately. It will cost you more then what your currently looking at but the choice is up to you. Just my two cents when it comes to 6" superduty lifts.

I must admit the Rise is a nice piece of Eye Candy Fo-Sho. I guess I would ask what is the Dual Shocks really buying me honestly. I do use the vehicle to go off roading so I am looking for functional, but here is the Oxymoron. I want to use it to still tow etc. I have a 14,500 trailer I pull out to the dirt, so I don't want to loose that. With that said, I only drive as hard as I am willing to limp a trailer home with a busted truck, hehe.

I guess I am asking, is the route I am taking going to offer any hidden issues. You know guys say o man, I lifted mine and its great. Then you do it and use the truck as you normally would and same guy goes o man you can't do that anymore. Its lifted, duh!

Hah well I could give you better input on the procomp lifts. But I do know that all rize lifts are designed to perform like stock while still handle the stresses of extreme off road conditions.

Honestly I think if anything with this lift I would think my suspension is just that much sturdier. It rides like stock and hasn't gone wrong once.

check out this 08 f550 work truck with an 8" rize

I don't think you'll have to worry about losing any functionality.

And as for the shocks I cant really give you a solid answer. I always thought that all those fancy dual shock dual reservoir nitro shock systems were just an expensive way to improve ride quality. I use the cheapest single gas skyjacker shocks and it rides smooth.

Maybe some one with better knowledge on that topic might chime in. You could always repost in the suspension section.

I think I am going to go with function and some bit of form. I am looking to do the Rise System. With Some Moto Metals 951's. Should look sweet once its done.

Well for the price I hope so they are way pricey, Almost 3k for the 6 inch lift over all. The rear Springs are like 490. for the set, and the font setup with out Dual hoops is like $2200.00. So unless some one know a better place to get them, I am going to have to put this little project on hold.

or you could just get a different kit? The rize looks great, but you could go PC or fabtech as well. Fabtech has some sweet Powerstroke lift options

Well mine is the radius arm drop kit. I got a great deal on it and payed $1200 installed with everything.

I think your looking at the 4 link conversion which is like you said WAY pricey. I mentioned the radius arm drop kit originally because I assumed the procomp kit you were looking at was one. But if your are looking at a 4 link then you may be in trouble because there all very expensive.

yes. Drop kits work fine. If you want radius arms you can upgrade later. Similar to the spacer vs. coilover upgrades on F-150's. 4 links rock, but do you really need em?

well If I am going to do it, I want to do it right. When you say use them, I am not sure what you mean? I am going to go off roading, I want the thing to ride nice. I understand the 4 link long travel kits do just that. So I am hoping to go with that. I have shopped around a bit and seem to have found a shop that is willing to work with my budget and I still am in the Rize 4 link, with rear springs and duals up, front and rear. So this might actually work out for me. More to come.
