Question about adding second alternator...

Well, I was at work last night, perusing ebay like I always do when there is no work to be done. I came across a complete dual alternator kit that had been removed from a brand new Super Duty to allow the installation of a clutch pump. The complete kit includes the alternator, bracket, wiring harness, and serpentine belt. I got the whole thing for $80, so even if I can't make it work, it's no big deal.

My question is, will the ECU need to be reprogrammed once the second alternator is added?

If you find out you can't use that bad boy, drop me a PM or an e-mail. I might just have a home for it.

Ok, I sure will. The more I read, the more I think the ECU has to be reprogrammed. If that's the case, I will let you know.
