If you don't mind, when i get a new truck, im going to build it pretty much exactly like yours. basically to a T. It's flat out amazing. I love that white color. but i also love the copper, and black. shoot idk. i just go around in circles. a new truck is 4-5 months off and ive been planning what i want since the 08s came out and i still have NO CLUE lol.

Nice, you should tell him to get the harley grill/headlights I don't know what it is but I'm just a fan of that look

not so sure if I'd recommend the straight pipe to "anyone" though

x2 fl4x4 have you heard a straight pipe diesel? even with no cat it isnt that loud and it sounds amazing and helped out the power quite a bit(although that is from my experiance going from 12 psi from a clogged cat to straight pushing 30psi)

my 6.0 is also straight piped so I know the amazing sound and the benefits of a straight pipe although there are are some negatives.

1. a stock 6.0 will boost around 22-25psi while a straight pipe can reach 30. The only difference is with no back pressure it will take longer to build boost from a stand still.

2. Also a stock truck will warm up faster since the 6.0 utilizes exhaust back pressure to warm up faster.

3. And finally chances are if you run into problems your local ford dealer will not honor your warranty if you have no cat or muffler.

1. How would decreased back pressure cause an increase in boost time? Back pressure makes it HARDER to make boost.

2. Back pressure is irrelevant in this case. The 6.0 has the VGT Turbo which creates its own back pressure, similar to the EBPV on a 7.3.

3. The cat I can understand, the muffler is total BS.

1.You repeated what I said
2.Can't really explain this one I just go I just go by what the techs at ford tell me.
3.Trust me on this one I know from experience but really it comes down to the discretion of the tech working on your truck

hes right it depends on the tech working on your truck ive brought mine in for warranty work 3 times for injectors, ficm, and ficm harness. and i had a 4" down pipe 5 " exhaust no cat no muffler. s&b intake and a bullydog oulook monitor on it. took the program off before i brough it in though. but mine spools quicker than it did with factory intake and exhaust and is a lot louder especially when the black smoke pours and the valves start clattering.

I'm trying to understand how a lack of backpressure could possibly make it harder to build boost from a standstill. This seems absurd. I think someone is mistaking exhaust pressure with turbo pressure. Man, this thread has been totally hijacked!
