check engine light or "wrench" icon

Ive got a 08 F350 with the 5.4L. If i let it sit and idle for an extended period of time, the check engine light or the wrench icon will come on. If i stop and restart the engine, it usually goes away. any ideas on whats going on with this?

thanks,

As far as I know, if it has california emmisions package...it will have an idle prevention deal on it, so that may be part of the problem.
