All diesel owners!!

Hey everyone i was thinking about trading in my f-150 for a diesel truck. Its a 2000 has the 7.3l crew cab with 142k for 11k 4x4 lariat....is this a good buy....and how long does a tank of fuel last for you guys...and how much to fill up. It says it has a 29 gal tank, but i thought they had 38 gal. I will have a tuner for it. I drive anywhere from 25-40 miles a day. Well monday thru friday. Wont get driven near that on weekends....any input will be great! Thanks guys!

8' bed = 38 gallons
6 3/4' bed = 29 gallons

Driving sensibly doing 85% highway/10% towing/ 5%in town my truck gets 18 MPG on a tank, roughly 450 total miles (450/18=25 gallons), and it would never be close to empty. Lets just put it like this... I've NEVER seen my low fuel light come on. Cost to fill up greatly depends on the price of fuel and how low you run it.

Offer them 10K. If they say no, then walk. They'll call you back. Does the truck have a gooseneck/5th wheel? Can you tell if it has been hauling anything?

Do the tires look mis-matched to anyone else?

The dealer's website also says that the trim is XL, not a lariat...

That truck is a Lariat, I can see the red in the emblems.

You need to drive it for more than 3 miles... See if you can take it out for an afternoon. Test out the 4x4, AC, etc. Oh yeah, if it has a drop in liner, lift it up and look for holes in the bed where a gn/5th would be mounted. Dealers are tricky and like to throw in a drop in liner over the holes and give ya the "never towed anything heavy" line.
