Where is the activity?

Hey folks...haven't seen much activity lately on the forum here. Did some folks get scared of fuel prices and sell their Super Duties??

I see alot of action over on the FTE site, but miss the compliments, slams, braggin', show off'n, troubleshootin', and all else on this forum...

OK, I'll bite.

I currently own a 98 F150 2WD supercab 8' bed. It is my work truck. Problem is, I need more. I routinely am putting max loads in this thing (probably going over most of the time too).

This means I should be getting a SD.

Either truck would be crew, 2WD and 8' bed. I've been looking at '01-'03 7.3. I've noticed very little difference in price between F250 & F350. Considering the capacity of the 250 is 2670 lbs and the DRW 350 is 4675 lbs, it's kinda a no brainer to go with the 350. Right?
I'm aware of the price increase in licensing, toll roads, insurance, etc.

Just found the exact loaded truck (350) at a dealer for $18k: 2002 with 69,000 miles. They're also willing to give me $5k trade-in for my '98 F150.

Sound like a good deal?

Advice?

This would be a work truck in my business name.

Thanks

If its 4x4 then its a good deal. If its 4x2 its a little steep. Either way try and talk them down some. I'm sure it is going nowhere quick. I'm still alive... Enjoying 18 MPG in my diesel truck.

Eh... I'm on there occasionally. Usually I'm on TDG or a new site called Talk Diesel. I've actually met most of the members there in person through the SLAPS club (St. Louis Area Power Strokes). Small site but its growing and pretty fun. Tell em I sent ya.

Well apparently there is still a big market for '01-'03 F350 DRW. I have lost out on 3 of them in the past 2 weeks. They're being sold within days. If you find one, you better have the money ready to go. Because I'm finding them in the south, it takes a while for me to get my chit together and by the time I'm ready to go, they're sold

Eh, my parents still have their 01' 250. Last time I checked, it was getting something like 16 MPG though it would probably get more if I didn't drive it. Still not properly "broken in," with 48k miles on the clock.
