2003 F-350-push the tow/ haul button and nothing happens, no light and transmission does not go into tow mode. Could it be as simple as the button switch on the end of shifter?

 

I think the button's wiring is broken inside of the stick/shaft that you turn on the gear with. I think it's called a "shifter"... but it's the automatic shifter.

I think it's just 2 wires... I think someone twist it off or was messing with it and it just broke. I think it is common occurance on here to happen frequently.
