2002 7.3L Exhaust Question

Every now and then when I start my truck (more often when its cold in the morning) the truck's exhaust sounds normal for a few mins, then out of nowhere it sounds like its just shooting the gases and what not out at a high *** speed, almost sounds like a jet lol.......any ideas?

the turbo has to take the time to warm up, and as it does it expands. the engine is just readjusting to the pressure change.

EBP valve in your turbo, for quicker worm ups.

Thats the high idle kicking in. Tap the either of the pedals and itll go back to the regular idle speed.

When driving, your EBPV will shut. When just sitting there in park, the truck will high idle on its own and shut the EBPV, causing the jet sound. One of these days I'll get around to deleting my EBPV.
