Did the DIY Intake today...

Got it done today... Used a 5" long piece of 4" pipe and it was probably 1-2" too long, but I made it work. Cut the factory battery box after I removed the factory air box. Slid the battery box forward 1" for the filter to fit properly. Of course, here's the pics:







Haven't really gotten a chance to drive it much but around the block, but daaaaaayum, seems like it helped out rather nicely. I hit "way too fast" really fast.

How does the turbo sound. Is it louder?

What do you mean by "way too fast"? You mean speed or in PSI boost?

Can you make a new video of it?

yea, id like to see/hear this. might be a mod worth while for my dad to look at doing on his 7.3.

I should have done that insted of my AEM one i put on, it looks like it will flow more. Looks good man!

Lose the worm gear clamp on the fiter ASAP. A worm gear clamp doesn't provide near enough clamp load to properly make the neck of that particular filter seal. A high torque clamp is required there. That filter has a particularly stiff neck and requires much more torque than you think to seal it.
