Question 2008 f250 amplifier mounting, supercab, behind seat?

Hey,

Has anyone mounted an amplifier behind the rear seat of a new 08 f250/f35 supercab? (not crew cab!) Im getting a dual 10 box that takes up all the room under the rear seat...the only place left is behind the rear seat...

I removed the back seat and looked behind it... there is so much metal back there that makes up the rear seat back.... any suggestions?

Thanks,

Roger

I did, but unfortunately, I did not take any pictures with the seat out of the truck. My amp is very small though.

Alpine PDX 1.1000

It is only 10-1/8'' x 7-9/16'' x 2-7/16'' but puts out 1000 watts. Gotta' love Class D amplifiers.

Also, did you buy the MTX Thunderform box? I just installed one and there is one thing that you need to know. You will need to trim off a bolt under the back seat to make the box fit. If you raise your rear seats up, you will see the metal bracket that supports the seats at the 60/40 split. That metal bracket is bolted to the floor. There is a long bolt that sticks up out of the floor with a nut threaded onto it to hold that support in place. You will need to saw off that bolt just above the nut. I did so with a hacksaw. Be sure to cut the bolt off with the nut in place. This will ensure that you will be able to get the nut back onto the bolt. Once you have sawed off the bolt, you can loosen the nut and it will fix the threads where the saw messed them up.

Jeez freaky what subs fitting under a seat need and/or can handle 1000 watts? Or however you have the impedance set.

nah,I getting the custom made box. I kinda like the downfire better. Plus that mtx box was ridiculuous priced. Mine is gonna cost 135 with xtra mounting depth. That MTX was like 200+ unloaded....

A pair of Rockford Fosgate P3SD410 shallow mount subs. They have dual 4 ohm voice coils. Both voice coils on each sub are running in series to make each speaker 8 ohms, then the two subs are running in parallel, making it 4 ohms total.

Yeah, the MTX box was $239 shipped with no subs. Then I spent another $300 on the pair of Rockford Fosgate P3SD410's. I do have to say that I am extremely pleased with the MTX box and have gotten a ton of compliments on it. It looks so much better than a carpeted box. People can't believe that it isn't stock.
